If you see a mouse in your home, do you freak out? Some are deathly afraid of rodents, while others just dislike them for what they could be bringing with them. Rodents can carry disease, and they can do quite a bit of damage to your home when they are digging tunnels and building nests. Once you catch one in your home, it could have been there for a long time already. This is why it is a good idea to be alert to early signs of rodents in the neighborhood. If you notice collections of shredded fabric or newspapers, you might be looking at a rodent collecting material for a nest. If you notice holes or cracks that have scratch-marks around them, a rodent might have been using it for access. To the extent possible, it is good to patch these up as you find them to prevent rodents from getting in. Using pesticides and traps might be enough to get control over the infestation.
