Life here on earth is dependent on water, and as you are probably aware, drinking water is not very plentiful in many parts of the world. While water supplies in this country seem plentiful, some are still concerned about what the future will bring. If you have concerns, it might be worth considering applying some water conservation in your home. There are many things you can do to lower the amount of water used, especially considering that the average American household uses about a hundred gallons of water daily.

One major water waster is your toilet. On older toilets, as much as seven gallons of water was used each flush, and sadly there are still homes out there that have toilets that function that way. Upgrading your toilet could save you as much as 80% of that water.

Another good method of water conservation is being careful not to let water run unnecessarily. When you are not actively rinsing something off, the water should be shut off. While this might be a little inconvenient, you will end up saving a lot of water this way.
